Summer Wedding Inspiration

The month of May is over, and we all know what that means; it’s summer time! Say goodbye to May Gray and hello to the warm summer sun! Break out the sunscreen, shades, and flip-flops and get ready to get your tan on! Summer also means SO many beautiful summer weddings!

From colors and decor to food and drinks, read up for some fun summer wedding inspiration.

Color Palette

Say goodbye to spring pastels and hello to bright and bold! Here are some summer color palettes to base your special day around:

1. Aqua + Silver + Beige

2. Magenta + Yellow + Orange

3. Sky Blue + Sage + Pale Yellow

4. Gold + Peach + Light Green

5. Sunshine Yellow + Shades of Gray

Centerpieces

Nothing says summer more than a fun day by the water! Drawing inspiration from the beach, bay, or lake is a great start!

Beach: Whether you opt for one or three, cylinder vases are a timeless and classy start to your beach inspired centerpieces. One option is to fill the vases full of seashells and water and float a single round candle on top. Another is to fill the vases with sand, a single tall cylinder candle and a few shells or starfish.

Bay: Lanterns are a beautiful way to bring inspiration from the bayside, table side! No matter the color lantern you choose, there are several options to bring it to life. While putting a single tall cylinder candle is the typical route with lanterns, another option is to fully fill the lantern with flowers and have a few simple votives with tea lights surrounding. If you want to go the more standard route with the candle inside the lantern, try putting a ring of flowers around the base of the lantern, simply stunning!

Lake: Start with a tree stump in the center of the table and go from there! The wood really brings the outdoorsy feel to life. Instead of a standard vase, go for mason jars full of all types of wild flowers. Stuff the bottom of the mason jar with fairy lights to resemble a “firefly” look that reminds guests of those summer nights by the lake.

Food

Appetizers: Pulled Pork Sliders, Shrimp Cocktail, Frozen Watermelon Slices

Main Course: Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, Grilled Chicken, Grilled Corn on the Cob

Drinks: Lemonade and Iced Tea Bar, Prosecco Punch, Spiked Spritzers

Desserts: Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Cobbler, S’Mores Bar

Miscellaneous

Lawn Games: Everyone loves games! So why not bring a few to your special day? Giant lawn games are a great addition to any event, they are a fun way to pass the time and they are best enjoyed with friends! Giant Jenga and Giant Connect 4 are our favorites!

Sunglass Station: Don’t let your guests be blinded by your love! During the summer the bright sun can at time can get in the way, especially during outside ceremonies. Providing a table with custom sunglasses will ensure guests will enjoy their time outside and be able to see it properly! The sunglasses also double as a cute, memorable, and useful take home!

Frozen Treats: Frozen desserts are an all time favorite during the summer and a great way to beat the heat. Summer weddings most definitely call for some type of frozen treat. Popsicles, Snow Cones, Ice Cream Sandwiches or Sundaes, no matter what it may be guests will for sure be going back for more!

Flower Crowns: With florals in full bloom, flower crowns are the perfect accessory for summer weddings. Go big and bold or simple and dainty. You can choose to have everyone in your bridal party wear a crown or have it be just for you. No matter what you choose, flower crowns add a whimsical sense of romance to any wedding day.
